?

When asked what I am
I instantly say American
Why isn't that an option?

I’m from here
My parents are from here
Either my grandparents or great-grandparents immigrated from
Montserrat
Ireland

obviously Africa somewhere down the line
+ technically I"m native to this land as my great grandparents are  Indian

Furthermore, why is it that every “black” person is “African-American”
There are so many places “black” people live
+ immigrated from
Plus these letters are black & I am a burnt caramel
It’s disrespectful to assume that I am something
+ that I'm not going to acknowledge my “white” side
Celebrate the differences
We should all have the freedom to identify as whatever we want
Enough already
Let’s unite
